Sand cats

Hello, have you ever heard of a sand cat? well if you haven't now is the time to learn about this awesome cat breed!!



                          Characteristics 
A sand cats fur is a pale and sandy color, and much lighter on the lower part of the head, around the nose, throat and the belly. A faint reddish line go's from the eyes to the cheeks. The cats whiskers are up to 8 cm long. They also have long hair on their feet, to protect them from very hot sand in the dessert. 

                                                       
                                Threats
Humans were the sand cat's biggest threat. They ruined their habitat. And in Asia, people would hunt them and kill them with poisoned bait. 
                                                                  
                                                                 

Habitat

Sand cats live in the desserts of South Western Asia, and North Africa. It is very hot in that part of the world. The cats live in underground dens. They hunt at night searching for small rodents.
